There are two types of Power of Attorney. There are those that can be used to cover temporary situations where you are not available to sign and there are Continuing and Welfare Powers of Attorney which mean you can have a family member or friend control your finances and make important decisions regarding your welfare when due to physical or mental incapacity you are no longer able to do so.
